(1988)
Now confined to a mental hospital, young Kirsty insists her supposedly dead father is actually stuck in Hell following his wife’s betrayal. Few believe the young woman’s lurid stories aside from the thrill-seeking Dr. Channard. Kirsty is undeterred and, with the help of a fellow patient, heads to Hell for a rescue.

The film continues the work of Clive Barker’s original Hellraiser, though it was directed by Tony Randel. The film received mixed to positive reviews and performed well enough to continue the franchise.
The direct sequel expands the Cenobite mythology and delivers more of the labyrinthine Lemarchand design aesthetic. For collectors committed to the franchise, this entry's production design and practical effects work make it nearly as desirable as the first film's materials.
Produced with a larger budget than the first film, it allowed for more extensive set design and special effects. The film received mixed to positive reviews and performed well enough to continue the franchise.
