(1987)
After another deadly shark attack, Ellen Brody decides she has had enough of New England's Amity Island and moves to the Caribbean to join her son, Michael, and his family. But a great white shark has followed her there, hungry for more lives.

A late franchise entry in the Jaws series that is widely regarded as a tonal departure into melodramatic survival horror. It is often remembered for its infamous reputation within blockbuster sequel history. Despite criticism, it remains a recognizable 80s franchise artifact.
Collectors are drawn to its iconic shark imagery and its place in blockbuster horror decline narratives. The mechanical shark sequences and ocean-set tension still carry visual nostalgia. Its notoriety makes it a key “so bad it’s essential” franchise piece.
Directed by Joseph Sargent, it was produced as a major studio sequel with a significantly altered tone from earlier entries. It performed commercially but was critically panned, later gaining cult curiosity status.
