(1985)
Conducting clandestine experiments within the morgue at Miskatonic University, scientist Herbert West reveals to a fellow graduate student his groundbreaking work concerning the re-animation of fresh corpses.

Star Jeffrey Combs’ energetic performance as Herbert West became iconic in cult horror circles. Re-Animator initially polarized critics but quickly gained a cult following due to its unique blend of horror and comedy.
Herbert West's glowing green reagent and Dr. Hill carrying his own severed head are among horror's most gleefully transgressive images. The Lovecraft source material, Band's Herrmann-riffing score, and Gordon's unhinged direction created a film that launched careers and set the standard for 80s horror comedy.
