(1982)
Anthony and Dolores Montelli, along with their four children, move into their dream house in Amityville and are immediately plagued by a string of paranormal experiences. When the abusive Anthony wrongly places the blame on the children, Dolores recruits a local Catholic priest to exorcise the house.

A controversial possession-prequel that leans heavily into incestuous family horror and escalating supernatural corruption. It stands out in the Amityville franchise for its darker, more explicit psychological tone. Over time, it has become a cult entry for fans of extreme possession narratives.
Collectors are drawn to its unsettling domestic horror imagery and the way the house itself feels like an active force. The practical possession effects and gradual transformation sequences give it strong VHS-era appeal. Its notoriety within the franchise makes it a key collector piece for Amityville completists.
Directed by Damiano Damiani, it was produced as a prequel loosely inspired by the Amityville narrative. Despite critical controversy, it found enduring life through home video and late-night television broadcasts.
