A Troma-produced exploitation comedy-horror hybrid known for its radioactive satire and low-budget excess. It is a defining cult entry in American underground cinema. Its tone is intentionally chaotic and anarchic.
Collectors are drawn to its mutated creature effects and exaggerated toxic-waste aesthetic. The film’s handmade effects and aggressive visual style make it a staple in exploitation collections. Its Troma branding gives it strong cult collector identity.
Directed by Richard W. Haines with Lloyd Kaufman’s Troma influence, it was produced on a very low budget during the peak of 80s indie exploitation. It later became one of Troma’s flagship cult titles.
