(1985)
As the world is overrun by zombies, scientists and military personnel in an underground Florida bunker must decide on how they should deal with the undead.

It features groundbreaking practical effects by Tom Savini, widely praised for their realism. The character of Bub, a partially domesticated zombie, became one of the film’s most memorable elements.
Bub the zombie — capable of something like memory and emotional response — gave the film its most haunting image. Tom Savini's effects here are considered his finest hour, and the film's dark, claustrophobic atmosphere and its cult reclamation give it serious collector standing within the Dead series.
Romero originally planned a larger-scale production but had to scale back due to budget constraints, leading to a more contained setting. Upon release, the film received mixed reviews, with some criticism of its tone and pacing.
