(1981)
Madman Marz, an old folklore legend who murdered his family before escaping into the woods, is inadvertently summoned to a campsite to finish the spree he started decades ago.

A regional slasher that embraces folklore structure and rural isolation. It is a cult favorite among fans of summer-camp horror adjacent to Friday the 13th. Its mythic killer concept gives it a slightly fairy-tale distortion compared to standard slashers.
Collectors are drawn to its foggy forest atmosphere and its simple but effective masked killer design. The film’s practical kills and woodland stalking sequences give it strong visual appeal in VHS artwork. Its cult status is amplified by its association with campfire myth horror.
Directed by Joe Giannone, it was produced independently with limited distribution. It circulated primarily through drive-ins and home video, where it slowly developed a loyal following.
