(1981)
Jon Lansdale is a comic book artist who loses his right hand in a car accident. The hand was not found at the scene of the accident, but it soon returns by itself to follow Jon around, and murder those who anger him.

A psychological horror film that blends identity breakdown with supernatural suggestion. It is closely associated with Michael Caine in a rare genre role, giving it strong collector recognition. Reception was mixed, but it has since developed a modest cult following.
Collectors are drawn to its disembodied-hand concept and the practical effects used to bring it to life. The visual of unseen violence guided by a detached force makes it memorable in physical media artwork. Its place within early-80s psychological horror gives it a distinct shelf identity.
Directed by Oliver Stone, the film was produced during his early career phase. It reflects experimental tendencies in character-driven horror before his shift toward larger-scale dramatic filmmaking.
