(1987)
Ash Williams and his girlfriend Linda find a log cabin in the woods with a voice recording from an archeologist who had recorded himself reciting ancient chants from "The Book of the Dead." As they play the recording an evil power is unleashed taking over Linda's body.

Bruce Campbell’s performance as Ash became iconic, especially his transition into a more comedic and heroic character. It performed well critically and gained a strong cult following. A genuine touchstone of supernatural horror.
Evil Dead 2 is simultaneously sequel and remake — and one of the most inventive horror comedies ever made. Bruce Campbell's Ash evolved into an accidental icon here, and Raimi's slapstick-meets-splatter approach produced sequences that still feel fresh. The tonal acrobatics and cult status make associated materials consistently in demand.
Directed by Sam Raimi, the film was produced with a larger budget than its predecessor, allowing for more elaborate effects and set pieces. Evil Dead II received highly positive reviews and is often considered one of the greatest horror-comedy films.
