Jason ships out aboard a teen-filled "love boat" bound for New York, which he soon transforms into the ultimate voyage of the damned.









Despite its title, most of the film takes place on a ship, with only part set in New York City. The film received negative reviews and performed less successfully than earlier installments.
The most divisive main franchise entry — more Manhattan-adjacent than the title implies, but containing some of the series' most surreal imagery. Its notoriety and its role closing the Paramount chapter make it a required piece for complete franchise collections.
Directed by Rob Hedden, the film was produced with a larger budget than earlier entries but faced limitations that affected its depiction of New York. The film received negative reviews and performed less successfully than earlier installments. However, it has gained a cult following.
